Brier Hills Recycling

Our Organic Recycling site operates under a full Waste Management Licence alongside full planning permission. A multitude of wastes can be processed and recycled into BSI PAS 100 composts, creating a carbon freindly solution for waste disposal.

Our wood recycling plant has a purpose built concrete reception area and large barn, specifically for wood waste recycling.  The wood waste undergoes multiple shredding and grading to produce specific product streams for end markets.

Farming has always been at the heart of the buisness, growing from when William and Lynda started in 1993. We now have a progressive Arable farm which is run alongside a modern Farm Contracting buisness.

Our range of Compost and Wood products make excellent organic fertilisers and mulches for use in Horticulture and Agriculture. The compost is produced to a BSI PAS 100 specification along with Compost Quality Protocol Certification.  All our products are fully peat free and are made from materials that are either diverted from landfill or certified as 100% renewable.

As the country moves forwards towards a greener future so do we. We currently supply Wood Chip to a multitude of end users. We offer either a recycled chip or a virgin chip, both BSL registered for consumption in Biomass Boilers. We also offer Wood Chip and Fines for other uses such as animal bedding and horticultural mulches

Run by Vulcan Renewables the on-farm Anaerobic Digester was commisioned in 2013. Utilising crops grown on our farm, and others,  it can export up to 1,000 m3/hour of Methane as well as powering a 0.5 MWe CHP for electricity generation. This provides a renewable solution to the countrys energy demands as well as providing a sustainable market for our crops.  The site also produces both a solid and liquid fertiliser which are used on the farm to reduce our reliance on in-organic inputs.
